progress on ScatterLand

December 20, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

We’ve been busy working on ScatterLand: wordsmithing the rules, polishing the graphics, and playtesting a bit more with four players.

All of our playtest sesssions have gone extremely well, and the game even won over my gaming-averse family. I think it’s neat how the basic game with four is a lightweight family game à la Blokus, while the advanced game with two is more of a strategic brain-burner.

We had really hoped to release the game this last week, but life sometimes gets in the way. We’re shooting now for the first week in January….

Of course this means that the final product will be that much more professional-looking, but I have to admit I’m a little disappointed. I was really hoping to get it done before Christmas. :-(

One more thing: we’ve decided to stick with a small format (8.5″ x 11″) board for now, possibly releasing a deluxe version at some point on eBay.

As always, we’ll keep you posted…. =^..^=
